Become a Helpline, Front Desk, or Shelter Volunteer

About this role

HelpLine, Front Desk, and Shelter volunteers provide emotional support, safety planning, and referrals by phone or in person to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

HelpLine and Front Desk volunteers complete a comprehensive 20-hour training and ongoing continuing education. HelpLine and Front Desk Volunteers sign up for in person business hour (Front Desk) or week day evening/overnight and weekend shifts (HelpLine) that work with their schedule.

Shelter Volunteers are needed to support evening/overnight and weekend in person coverage at our 24-hour emergency shelter. Shelter volunteers complete a comprehensive 20-hour training and ongoing continuing education.

Become a Thrift SHOP Volunteer

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Volunteers are vital to the success of the Second Bloom of Chatham Thrift Shop - in fact, the shop is powered exclusively by volunteers!

Sales clerks greet customers and help them complete purchases, while donation sorters help us organize, price, and display donated thrift items. Shifts are generally 2-4 hours.

All thrift shop volunteers receive a 25% discount on purchases during volunteer time!

Become a Board Member

About this role

As a board member for Second Bloom, you will work as a team member to ensure that the organization is fulfilling the purpose and mission it has set out to accomplish.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Attending monthly Board of Directors meetings

Participating in committees (Outreach and Communications, Strategic Planning, etc.)

Representing SBC at events held in the community
